Everyone is welcome at BSO Het Gebouw
FloreoKids provides small-scale after-school care al the largest community school in the Netherlands: Het Gebouw on Arubapad in North Leiden. Does your child attend one of the three primary schools in Het Gebouw? Then they are more than welcome to come and play at the aftes-school care facility after school and during holidays. We have 2 spaces on the 2nd floor of Het Gebouw. Adjacent to these spaces, we have a beautiful outdoor area at our disposal, where your child can play and engage in sports to their heart's content. Of course, there is also plenty of time to relax, and our pedagogical professionals always have lots of ideas for various fun activities!
The talent word for the location Het Gebouw is: Everyone is welcome. You can feel this as soon as you step into Het Gebouw. The building is designed to be multifunctional. Several schools are located within the building, a library is present, as well as a sports hall and our BSO (after-school care). There are also activities offered after school within the Building that we as BSO can use. As a result, the range of activities at the BSO is very diverse.
At Het Gebouw, the pedagogical professional work together with the children. Attention is given to each child, the care is small-scale, and we actively involve the children in coming up with and carrying out activities. It's an after-school care where we treat each other with respect. At Het Gebouw, we have a multicultural group composition, both in terms of children and staff members. The strength of Het Gebouw lies in its spacious and varied range of activities within the building. This allows the children to easily participate in music lessons or pay a visit to the library. Additionally, most of the children come from the schools present in the building. This transition from school to after-school care can be smooth for the children. As a result, they quickly feel comfortable and there is less unrest among them.
The small groups also contribute to a homely atmosphere. Everyone knows each other, partly due to the open-door policy. Children from the oldest group (Toppers) can easily join the youngest group (Bengels) and vice versa. The pedagogical proffesionals ensure that this interaction runs smoothly. The benefit of this is that children learn from and with each other.
The pedagogical professionals are involved and maintain good communication with the children and their parents. We actively work with the children on their social skills using the Kids Skill’s method. In addition, we focus on their talents and engage in talent conversations with the children to discover what they excel at and, most importantly, what brings them joy. Both in the younger and older groups, efforts have been made to showcase this in the classroom for the parents to see. During conversations with parents, the pedagogical professionals also highlight the child's qualities and strengths.
Children who attend school in Merenwijk can make use of the Het Gebouw location. We ensure that they are picked up from school.
Outings with the after-school care
During the holidays, the BSO becomes even more exciting. That's when we often go on outings. For instance, to a playground, a museum, the cinema, or the airport. The cost of these outings is included. Naturally, during the holidays, FloreoKids also provides lunch.
